KOSA Bill. In three days, the bill will either pass or be disgarded. Please reblog and sign petitions. to help stop the bill by going to the stop kosa tag so we can not let the bill pass!
The definition of not safe for work content that would be censored under KOSA is vague and would of course target the LGBT community.

Life happens before conception
Life does not start at conception. Both the egg and sperm cells are alive well before that. They are just as alive almost any other cell in your body. Any of which would die off if removed from the whole.
You might be able to say that human life begins at conception. After all, that is when the organism first gains a full set of DNA.
However, why is having a full set of DNA a prerequisite to being human? Not everyone has a complete set of DNA. Are those people suddenly less human? (eugenicists fuck off)
Or does the argument center around the organism's viability? I'd argue that sperm and egg cells are just as viable as a zygote. In both cases, the cell could eventually spawn an organism that could live long enough to reproduce itself. And in both cases, the organism would die without the proper external care.
In addition, a human embryo does not gain the ability to think until it's in it's 3rd trimester. Before that, it has not finished developing its central nervous system and it's brain has not yet begun to develop regions like the frontal lobe used for complex thought. While it can feel pain prior to this, it wouldn't have the ability to think or dwell upon it.
So when is the correct time to start viewing the organism as a human? I don't know. I also don't really care what arbitrary line you decide it starts at. My line happens to be at conception, but so what? The right to body autonomy surpasses the requirement to save someone's life. Pregnancy does not remove this right.
First, I want to say that a person's rights do not allow them to infringe upon the superseding rights of others. My right to bodily autonomy does not give my the right to infringe upon Brett Kavanaugh's right to not be beaten senseless within an inch of his life.
I believe people have a right to a certain amount of sympathy from society. That if a person is bleeding out on the street, society is expected to show them the sympathy of at least calling the paramedics. However, this right does not surpass that of bodily autonomy. It would be horrific if the government could start removing blood or chunks of people's livers against their will even when another person needs it to live.
It's the fetus' right of sympathy that is lost in the case of abortion. While this does often mean that the fetus will die, that just the cruel fact of nature, not the intent from parties involved. A person's right to sympathy can not infringe upon someone's right to bodily autonomy to the degree that pregnancy does.
Some might argue that getting pregnant means that you loose some of your rights. Even if you only included cases where someone knowingly and willingly took the risk to get pregnant, there is no reason why this should invalidate your right to bodily autonomy.
You should only loose rights when you demonstrate a lack of capacity to keep those rights. The only requirements to have bodily autonomy are the ability to form and express thoughts, neither of which are lost upon becoming pregnant.

I, a person you’re most likely to not know, without owning an AO3 account, am smart enough to read the tags on a story in order to keep my reading material asexual. When I select a story that caters to my interests that would be seen as more adult, I know what I am getting into. I don’t purposefully order a sandwich with thousand island dressing on it knowing full well that I hate thousand island (I actually dislike thousand island). It’s on me for knowingly ordering a sandwich with thousand island, not the chef who made it for me. Don’t get butthurt at the writer as a result of you knowingly pressing proceed on AO3 for the “Adult content past here, are you sure?“ prompt because of what you read. Basically, using metaphors here, order the sandwiches you want, and for Nayru’s Love, read the ingredients list so that things you hate aren’t in the goddess dang sandwich, even if you want it to set you on fire with the feels, and don’t order a sandwich flambeed if you don’t want it flambeed. Decency note: Oh, good goddess Hylia, as soon as you press “Proceed“ on the adult content warning, any egg will be on your face till Kingdom Hearts 4 is considered retro if you don’t like the story that you consented to reading. At that point, you don’t have the reason to cry and complain as if your tail’s in knots because you read a graphic story about how Sora and Roxas did the horizontal mambo after committing murder in a mafia AU (please don’t get butthurt about my example). You have options to both ditch and proceed for the adult story. You will be asked why you chose to consent to reading the graphically adult Sora x Roxas mafia fic (or whatever fic it is/was) if you complain to the writer/author. TLDR: You have no logical reason to not know what in the fiery hell you’re getting yourself into when you hit “Proceed“ on an AO3 adult content warning. You consented to that fire by hitting “Proceed”. You have a 100% viable option to leave and not read the fic if the tags contain something you don’t like. This is choice/fault is all on you, the writer just supplied you with the story.

Good morning! I’m salty.
I think we, as a general community, need to start taking this little moment more seriously.
This, right here? This is asking for consent. It’s a legal necessity, yes, but it is also you, the reader, actively consenting to see adult content; and in doing so, saying that you are of an age to see it, and that you’re emotionally capable of handling it.
You find the content you find behind this warning disgusting, horrifying, upsetting, triggering? You consented. You said you could handle it, and you were able to back out at any time. You take responsibility for yourself when you click through this, and so long as the creator used warnings and tags correctly, you bear full responsibility for its impact on you.
“Children are going to lie about their age” is probably true, but that’s the problem of them and the people who are responsible for them, not the people that they lie to.
If you’re not prepared to see adult content, created by and for adults, don’t fucking click through this. And if you do, for all that’s holy, don’t blame anyone else for it.
